Trapani, on the west coast of Sicily (Italy), will be one of the new venues for the 2013 RC44 Championship Tour.
Trapani is the capital of the Province of Trapani and attracts thousands of tourists to marvel at the medieval architecture of the old town. The city is still an important fishing port and the RC44 event will be based in the port of Trapani.
The beautiful waters and strong winds will provide excellent conditions for the international teams, Trapani is of course a well-known venue to the sailing world having hosted Acts 8 and 9 of the Louis Vuitton Cup series in 2005 and the Extreme Sailing Series.
The RC44 Trapani event will be the second event of the 2013 following on from the season’s opener in Muscat, Oman.
